River City Women’s Specialists are proud to offer a unique blend of expertise and patient-centered care for women in all stages of life and health. We believe that each patient is unique and so are her needs. We understand that no two pregnancies, gynecological problems or women are alike. Therefore, our patients are given individualized attention and proper health care management by our experienced, compassionate, knowledgeable, and individually unique providers.
Dr. Jack Rowland opened Cool Springs MD Chattanooga in 2017. As his response to an increasing demand for a comprehensive, medically supervised program that supports his patients’ journeys through the process of aging with a more realistic, holistic and proactive approach. With the help of Nurse Practitioner, Autumn Holmes, they believe every person deserves to live a prosperous, happy and healthy life. Whether you are having a hard time emotionally because you struggle with weight loss issues, have a hormone imbalance or are just interested in general wellness, our passion is to help you reach a brighter place.
Dr Rowland is very passionate and dedicated to women’s health care needs. He volunteers his time and talent to mission trips yearly. He covets the relationship he has established with the Latino community and is proud to offer bilingual services. He works with organizations such as La Paz, to help bridge the gap in women’s healthcare needs. His practice grew quickly due to patient recognition and appreciation of his focused and individualized care. The need for more space was obvious. In 2018 he acquired new office space in Hixson and also started construction that resulted in an expansion of our already existing office on Gunbarrel Road, Chattanooga. With all the new changes geared toward women’s health it was time to have a practice name dedicated to these changes. In 2018 River City Women’s Specialists was created as a branch of our existing practice of Cool Springs MD Chattanooga. With a sharper focus showcasing expanded services for our OB/GYN patients, River City Women’s Specialists represents Dr Rowland’s personal passion for women’s health. With more patients and more space naturally we needed more providers!
Dr Kreg Jonson joined us in 2018. He hit the floor with his feet running, quickly making a name for himself within the OB/GYN community. The compassionate care he conveys to his patients makes him a perfect fit for River City Women’s Specialists.
Today, we are blessed with a total of four locations! We are thrilled to make it easier for all our patients to get convenient care wherever they reside.
RCWS is made up of two incredible doctors/surgeons; two amazing nurse midwives, one fabulous nurse practitioner, two extremely talented ultra-sonographers, and over 30 staff members that truly care about our patients.

We are proud to offer bilingual services to our Spanish speaking patients.
